I am an educator who believes that all students are capable of acquiring knowledge. I firmly believe that STEM and STEAM curriculum can be modified so that more students can develop their own curated identities around STEM.
Hadiyah Shabazz , I posted some suggestions in your doc, as it relates to the next steps. I'm not that close to this as you are, so if my '2-cents' don't apply, then they just don't. I'm sure you will be fine!
I really like this idea of giving life to Science (and all things STEM) through creating a personal experience with it. Too often students in urban settings do NOT have a personal or familial connection to the Western STEM concepts, but may have a connection personal-wise. I.e. someone they are related to had smallpox and they are familiar with what happened and how their relative was healed.
