I'm a writer, artist and teacher. I began my teaching career as an ESL teacher at the Nissan Auto Factory in Tokyo, Japan with 38 auto factory workers. I had no experience when I walked in the room, my previous occupations having included, in chronological order, toll collector on the NY State Thruway, model for art classes at a local college, Street Artist at Fisherman's Wharf and taxi driver (way before Uber/Lyft).
