Hi! I wasn't expecting any comments, so this is really nice!
As a district/community, I think it's really important to have a health clinic on-site at school. I know this would be logistically difficult, but I like to dream big. I also think that early intervention is key, in terms of noting which students are falling behind, etc., and seeing what their story is. Partnering with food banks is also something that I've envisioned, because even though free/reduced meals are great, they don't continue through the weekend/holidays. The meals kids are served in school should be nutritionally complete, and actually taste good.
But honestly, I think that if we can end the cycle of poverty, we will see the effects on our students' higher education outcomes.
