I'm co-teaching a pilot course with a colleague where we've combined Algebra 1 and Physical Science, at a private K-12 college-prep school. We have 20 eighth graders that are along for the ride! It's exhausting, but it is honestly the most rewarding year of my teaching career. In fact, I might as well say it is my first year of teaching because I've been doing it wrong before now. We don't have tests or formal assessments, and we don't give grades. We are also textbook-free. We have the priveledge to truly put all those theories that teachers dream about to the test!
