I happened to just read this post which is kind of 'on topic' as it questions why we have one curriculum for all and why that curriculum includes what it does - https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/former-slaves-studying-latin-greek-nothing-has-changed-roger-schank

Exactly Michele Kire . The idea that somone decides what kids should learn is pretty weird really. Kids probably know what they are interested in or should be given more opportunities to discover some things they are interested in. And nothing can be wrong. When they are older they could be taught how to narrow their focus based on various factors e.g. growth industries, etc.
