I am enjoying my 19th year of teaching high school English. I teach at William Fremd High School in Palatine, IL where I also serve on my school's digital democracy team, the Viking Network, promoting a safe and positive digital world for our students. When not teaching, you can find me at my gym as I just recently received my NASM personal training certificate, and plan to share my passion and knowledge for healthy living with my colleagues.

I like this idea! We have mentorship programs available when students embark upon a new school or program - why not for their digital selves? At my high school, I can see pairing upperclassmen with freshmen who are just in the beginning stages of developing their online portfolios.
Thanks for the feedback, John! Yes, one of the aspects we thought worked well was incorporating the practice of digital literacy outside of the classroom, thus promoting a school-wide culture that virtually everyone could feel a part of.
