How It Works

Hey there admin! You can edit this page by clicking the 'Edit' button on the top of this page. The "How it works" page is a great spot to explain how a challenge works and any other information participants might want to know. Videos, graphics, and FAQs are all great types of content for this page. We've started it off with an overview of a typical challenge, but fo update it with your own language/visuals.

THE BIG QUESTION

A challenge always starts with a question - the problem we're focussing on solving. There's a brief which outlines the issue, and everyone is invited to participate in the process.

RESEARCH

To get a better understanding of the problem we're solving, we generate a collective pool of knowledge. In this phase we are not asking for ideas - we're  you to share your experience, existing solutions, or articles you've found online.

Other people's Research posts may inspire yours. If so, you can 'Build Upon' that person's contribution.

We use 'missions' to break down the research into tasks, they might ask you to share your story or go out and interview someone. Have a read through them and see if one inspires you to post a research contribution.

 IDEAS PHASE

After having had a good look at all the issues surrounding the challenge question, it's now time to synthesise all that knowledge and start coming up with ideas. Submit an idea, or help shape those of others by commenting or joining teams.

It can be hard to come up with an idea on the spot, so in this phase we've also got Missions , look at them as opportunity areas to kickstart your thinking. Or why not run a brainstorming session over lunch?

 REFINEMENT

dsddsdThe Ideas with the most potential move into the Refinement phase where you have a chance to develop them even further.  We encourage you to prototype and test concepts in real life as much as possible and share back your learnings , iteration is what makes an idea resilient.

EVALUATION

In this phase we will rate, comment on, and evaluate the concepts we feel will best address the issue, based on key criteria. This will help guide the selection of our Shortlist.

SHORTLIST

After reviewing the ideas and considering community evaluations as well as expert feedback, the Challenge team and sponsors will announce the winning shortlist and what's next!

IMPACT

In the impact phase, you'll be updated about what's happening to all those great ideas. Or if one of the ideas have been implemented by you, or you've experienced change because of the challenge - you can post your own story in this ongoing, celebratory phase.
