Many managers meet weekly to have a quick check in what is working and what is not. These quick shares lead to more focused meetings later to examine the issues that come up.
This model could be used in a student led conference situation where the parent and child and teacher stand and talk for a few minutes before moving to a table to discuss the specific areas that came up...this differs from the show and tell model of student led conferences and could help address some of the deeper questions parents or teachers have about student learning and growth.
