We have been running student led conferences in Primary for years. Some teachers get it, some don't. Some parents get it, some don't. Breaking into HS is proving extremely difficult because of what is believed by even the most innovative teachers and the perceived higher stakes.

Teacher dependent. So many long held beliefs underpin. Plus the old favourite - time, time, time. No easy overnight fix. It's relational. It's cultural.

Hey Louise:
It would be great to dive into the WHY behind the reason for the difficulties in bringing SLCs to high school. What makes it so challenging? I have lots of thoughts as a high school teacher, but it would be interesting to do an empathy interview and post it in addition to this post. Let me know if you have any questions!
