Parent-Led Teacher Workshops

I see teachers inviting parents coming in to speak to students, what if teachers were part of the audience and parents led workshops?

The parent community is an untapped resource that teachers can reach into and discover a rich talent pool. Relationships are strengthened when one party asks another party for a favor. When you ask for a help, it's one party's willingness to acknowledge the gifts of the other person.  If teachers wrote down a list of workshops they wish they could attend. Examples could be " Learn how to use Pivot Tables  in MS Excel" ,"Create a website", "DIY tips at Home" I'm sure some parents would jump at the shot to lead this workshop.  It also places teachers in the student seat and builds empathy.

I have some parents that I would love to learn from--including how to make delicious food :)
