Trust Councils

Data and information sharing requires vulnerability and trust; trust councils of district staff, parents & teachers could make it easier.

There seems to be a lack of trust in our community. If we can come together and circle up and have admin share data but also make it a two way conversation where parents and students can give their insight, advice and share their concerns, we can build the bonds needed to increase trust between us.

Share research or student experiences that informed your idea!

In our March RR Black Parents meeting, parents shared a number of times that there was a lack of transparency and acknowledging errors. There may simply be a lack of understanding or a fear of vulnerability. If we can mitigate this through building councils of trust, information can flow both ways. This would address the concerns of parents that were expressed about parent access to schools and the concerns expressed by students of wanting to be heard and respected.
