How might we build a career connection center that allows for cross curricular classes with flexible scheduling.

As an educator that is passionate about design thinking, my contribution will be to provide a structure to the challenges of launching RC3.

Meet the Riverchase Career Connection Center or RC3 for short. At the center, students from the Hoover City School district will have the ability to immerse themselves in one of five academy areas starting in August 2019. Current academies include Cyber Innovation, Fire Science, Health Science, Culinary and Building Science. The premise of the center will be to provide hands-on workforce areas for students to participate in a simulated work environment. Traditional core areas such as math and english will be integrated in the academy to provide real-world experiences.

Kelli, I'm excited to see what Hoover City School's is doing with the investment in Career and Technical Education. Since we have a skills gap in the United States, it is vital to train young men and women in being skilled professionals. With the Simulated Workplace focus, it is also essential to work with industry to train students. Look at what the Academy of Craft Training has accomplished! I look forward to reading more and hearing more about what Hoover is doing!
