We teach inquiry through concepts. This allow teachers to use the interest of their students to decide on the context. The introduction of SOLO Rubrics means we can challenge our students to develop their understanding on the concept so it can be revisited across their time at our school.

How does this idea help to spark student curiosity?

Using concepts means we can go in any direction with the context, depending on the interest of the students. The rubrics help them direct their level of thinking and engagement with the concept.

What grade level is this idea most appropriate for?

  • Elementary (1-5)
