Time and space to talk while working engages students in their learning.

I've uploaded two files. One is the detailed notes of a second grade math lesson I observed. This took place in their classroom on the sixth day of school. Despite it being so early in the year, students seemed to already know procedures and routines and did not hesitate about getting random partner assignments based on who was done next. The other file is a general summary based on multiple AEIOU observations done in a range of grade levels.

[Optional] Synthesize a little! In one sentence, describe something you learned from your empathy exercises or research.

Processing information out loud seems a natural way for students to learn and in general, students felt comfortable working in small groups throughout the room-all available space was used.
