Tell a Bad Joke Every Day

Start each lesson with an eye roll- and groan-inducing joke.

I told a bad joke to start each lesson. A lot of my students didn't find them funny, but it showed them I was totally OK being my dad joke-loving self. Every day. Eventually, most of them felt OK being their own selves every day. In terms of safety and stability - it did way more for culture than I could have ever imagined.
