Celebrating and Motivating Innovation

How might we better celebrate and motivate new patterns that encourage innovation within classrooms and schools? What are the rituals or habits that would help innovative teachers better recognize when that innovation is taking place and feel more validated in taking those risks? What about at the student level?

This mission is about creating solutions that would help teachers and schools better motivate and celebrate the patterns that lead to more innovative cultures within the context of their schools and classrooms.

Consider:

    • How might storytelling be used as a means of defining and celebrating innovation?

    • How might we promote the soft skills that foster a culture of innovation - like curiosity, optimism, or collaboration?

    • How might we motivate teachers to become more innovative in their practice?

    • How might we motivate students to take more academic risks in order to deepen their learning?
