Focus on Learning

How might we make going to school about the learning and not about a number (grade/test score)?

I teach in an affluent community and the students are pressured by parents to be the top 1%. What if instead the focus was on what each child was learning and connecting too rather than a number on a paper, or even the grade level of advanced math class they are in?

I share your frustration. I am not sure what the answer is, but I think making it a subject of discussion within your learning community might be a good place to start.
