What prevents you from trying out new things?

It’s usually lack of time or mental bandwidth available to learn how to use something new myself before trying it with others/students. I always want to try new things, but I don’t always take initiative to move on from something that is quick and familiar.

When was the last time you tried something new?

Today! I tried figuring out how to fix my crashing computer myself rather than asking Charles (my husband) to fix it for me!

When was the last time you felt comfortable taking a risk?

I generally feel comfortable taking most risks, even if I’m nervous. If I don’t take most risks, I always end up wondering “what if,” and that brings me more agony than taking the risk in the first place. =)

Hi Jessica,
Great questions. I'd love to know more about what kind of risks your colleague takes? He/she says they are comfortable "taking risks," what does 'risk' mean to him/her?
