1. At various points in a unit, build in an entire class period dedicated to games.
2. Through formative assessments, students can be sorted in to groups based on instructional level. Lower level learners can play games supported by a teacher or advanced student aimed to address shortcomings. On-level students can play games focused on unit content. Advanced students can play games designed to enrich and expand their knowledge of the content.
3. Game play can be used as further formative assessment.
4. Students can also work together to develop games to share with one another.
