My project is being created and designed with on grade level mastery minority student in mind. Having witnessed the disparities of minority representation in high school level math courses in middle school; I wanted to create and design a pathway for a larger number of minority students to gain entrance into Algebra I by their eighth grade year. My project would begin in early August with a 2-week preparatory camp.In order to prepare students who are identified as viable candidates for Algebra I. Foundational skills will be reviewed and some Algebra I skills will be pre-taught. These students will have an Algebra I support class as part of their course schedule for the school year.
