Just Ask

In making STEM more student-led, we can simply ask them their interests - what do they want to explore or create.

We should be doing more of this! Asking what students want to learn.
Great idea!

I love this idea.  To ask students directly is an excellent and effective way to engage the students very early on in their learning journey.  It also introduces them to design thinking.  The more you understand their needs and interests, the more effective learning will be.    It would be great to brainstorm on ways in fun ways to engage students  -  student led discussions, surveys, role play, etc.

The heart of student led learning is allowing students to pursue what interests them! I wonder if that could evolve into students becoming "classroom experts" in a particular field, teaching other students what they've learned?

Bringing in student interests and questions is so essential! How might you do this while still meeting your curricular goals? I wonder if you could unpack your thinking a bit for us! :)
