Most of the incredible gadgets we take for granted today were once considered possible only in science fiction. What if students brainstormed around an "impossible" piece of futuristic technology, generating a list of questions whose answers might provide a clue to its creation? The questions could be researched or crowdsourced by reaching out to experts in the relevant fields. Bringing together seemingly disparate pieces of information from different fields might lead to new perspectives and new discoveries.
